Duck Egg Blue Dinette Set

Here's a cute little redo that I recently finished up...finally.

I love the pull out drawer and original metal claw feet.

Oak chair before shot.

Now to find a new home for this lovely little grouping!

Embroidery Floss Pumpkins

One of my most popular blog posts is Embroidery Floss Easter Eggs. With so many people still reading the post, I thought I would attempt to make pumpkins using the same method.

What you will need:
Sta Flo
Embroidery Floss
Plastic wrap

Mix together 1 cup of Sta Flo and a 1/2 cup of flour until a thin paste forms.
Add more Sta Flo if needed.

Blow up your balloon and tie it off. Using plastic wrap, create a stem and tape it to the balloon.

Coil your embroidery floss in the goop substance. Pull a section out and wrap it around the balloon. I suggested using two fingers to "degoop" the floss before putting it on the balloon. Any excess goop will dry clear and you will have to scrape it off.
Use a smaller piece of floss for the stem.

Note: The blue painters tape stem did not work.
You can also see how little goop is on the embroidery floss. Less is more.

Allow your pumpkin balloons to dry for several hours.
Pop balloon and pull out the plastic wrap.

I think these would be too cute strung together on twine for a rustic Halloween decoration/banner. You could even string them on lights.

Shabby Chic Halloween Wreath

I won't be doing too much decorating this year for Halloween but I just had to make a wreath. This was super easy to make! I wrapped scraps of drop cloth around a wreath form, made a few flowers out of old fabric pieces and added one spooky little spider.

Cute wreath, eh?

Disturbing picture? Why yes.

Mini Me and myself... gone zombie.
